Connection • Collaboration • Commitment
Here’s what that looks like in action:
Connection
Strong relationships are the foundation of great therapy. That’s why we take the time to really get to know your child—their strengths, interests, quirks, and what makes them shine. By building genuine rapport, we can tailor therapy to suit your child’s unique needs and goals, making sessions more meaningful (and often more fun!).
Collaboration
You know your child best, and we see ourselves as part of your team. Whether it’s chatting with you, working alongside teachers, or touching base with other therapists and support workers, we’re all about open communication and shared goals. Great outcomes happen when everyone’s on the same page.
Commitment
From well-planned, evidence-based sessions, to regular check-ins and progress reviews, we’re dedicated to providing high-quality care that evolves with your child. We’ll keep things flexible, thoughtful, and focused on what matters most to you and your family.
Rhiannon is a passionate and down-to-earth speech pathologist who loves making therapy meaningful, engaging and fun. As a mum of four, she understands the speech therapy journey not just from the clinician’s perspective, but from the family side too—and that insight shapes everything she does.
She’s worked with people of all ages, from babies to adults, including those with complex disabilities and trauma backgrounds. One of her favourite areas of practice is paediatric feeding (including dysphagia), and she’s all about helping little ones feel more comfortable and confident with food.
Rhiannon is big on building strong, trusting relationships with her clients and their families—it’s at the heart of how she works. She’s always on the lookout for new research and fresh ideas to bring into her practice, and loves staying up-to-date with the latest in the speech and feeding world. A member of Speech Pathology Australia, Rhiannon is committed to delivering care that’s not only evidence-based but warm, supportive, and tailored to each family.
Rhiannon draws on her evidence-based learning and professional training to guide therapy in a way that’s both practical and personalised. Some of the additional training she has completed includes:
SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding
Infant Feeding Foundations (developed by Babble & Munch)
We offer support across a wide range of paediatric speech pathology areas—always with a personalised, relationship-first approach that makes therapy feel supportive and affirming.
Here are some of the areas we can help with:
🥄 Paediatric feeding and mealtimes
From fussy eating to feeding difficulties, we support families to make mealtimes less stressful and more successful.
🍼 Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties)
Support for children with swallowing disorders, always guided by safety, comfort, and evidence-based care.
🗣️ Speech (phonology & articulation)
Helping little ones pronounce sounds clearly and confidently so they can be understood and feel heard.

Whether your child is learning to understand language, express themselves, or both—we’re here to help their communication grow.
We know that children feel most comfortable in familiar spaces—that’s why Eat Play Speak is a mobile service. Sessions can occur at home, school, kindy, or childcare, wherever works best for your family.

It is important to gain an accurate understanding of client strengths, challenges and interests to formulate meaningful and client-centred goals. We want to see our clients succeed in speech therapy, and most importantly to enjoy the process!
The first step is to schedule an initial consultation. The goal of this session is to get to know you/your child’s needs, and discuss the process and expectations of speech pathology. This will generally be an initial appointment with the parent/caregiver to discuss the child's history and presenting areas of concern.
From the initial consultation, the focus will be on building rapport and getting to know your child. All speech pathology sessions can look different, as sessions are individually tailored based on a variety of factors such as age, stage of development, interests and temperament. At this stage a combination of informal and formal assessment tools may be used to identify if there is a need for ongoing speech pathology services.
After the initial consultation and any subsequent assessment sessions, a feedback appointment will be scheduled to discuss the results and therapy plan, including goals and future service needs.
After this initial assessment stage, a one page summary can be provided. However, for some purposes it may be necessary to receive a detailed assessment report (for funding purposes for example). This report will be formally written and contain in-depth detail (e.g. scores) of assessments that have taken place. Please advise at the time of commencing if a report is required.
